1 Ingredient and the fastest way to clean your nasty windows and doors
Cleaning the tracks of your windows and sliding doors might be one of the trickiest cleaning jobs in the home. They get filled with dust, dirt and even bugs from outside. It's not like you can just wipe them clean with a rag like you would with a window sill either so they definitely need some extra attention. Good thing there are some great cleaning tips that will help you get your window tracks clean once again. This would be a great cleaning task to do once a year while you're cleaning your blinds and windows. You could do the blinds first, then the windows and then the window tracks. If it's your sliding door that needs the attention then make sure you give your glass doors a good cleaning too. Cooktop Cove shares some great simple life hacks with us to make cleaning these tracks very easy. All you will need is some baking soda, paper towels, hydrogen peroxide and Q-tips. All of these cleaners are natural so they won't be toxic to you and your family, plus they are all environmentally friendly too. They are also very inexpensive as well, and you may even have them at home already too. Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda are very powerful when used together, and they can get rid of even some of the toughest stains.
First of all, you're going to use a paper towel to wipe away any loose dirt or dust and bugs. You can also use your vacuum to suck up any debris too. If you vacuum attachment won't fit in there, you can take an empty paper towel roll and put it on your vacuum hose and then fold the end to create a thin opening that will fit into the crevices. Next, sprinkle the baking soda evenly in the window track and pour the hydrogen peroxide on top of it. Let the cleaners sit for at least 5 minutes to loosen any stuck on dirt. Then take a rag or a paper towel and wipe all of the dirt out of there. If there are any tight spaces which there always are, use a Q-tip to reach them. One of the other simple life hacks is to use an old toothbrush to scrub the crevices. Once you're all done scrubbing just dry out the window track with a fresh towel or rag, and you're window tracks will be clean. The other simple life hack for cleaning your window tracks and sliding door tracks requires vinegar, Q-tips, paper towels and a vacuum with a hose. Again, you'll use the vacuum to remove any debris from the window track and then you can soak your Q-tip in some vinegar and use that to clean out the dirt. You can also use a toothbrush which will help to remove the dirt and grime.
Rinse out the window track and then dry it with a dry cloth or paper towel. These two cleaning tips make it so much easier to clean your window tracks, and you'll be able to enjoy a dust free home again once you're done. Do these cleaning tips once or twice a year to keep your windows clean and don't forget to clean your windows and blinds regularly too. Blinds tend to collect a lot of dust so make sure that you clean them more often than your windows and window tracks. The easiest way to clean your blinds is to get a bucket of water with some vinegar in it and use a cloth to wipe them down.
