Do you love brownies but you're also trying to stay healthy? This is one of the dessert recipes you can try out that's not only super yummy, but it's also healthy too. Finding good dessert recipes that are also healthy is sometimes tough depending on any dietary restrictions you have. Some people are gluten intolerant while others are not able to consume refined sugar. Other people are vegan which means they don't eat dairy or eggs as well as no meat, while vegetarians still consume dairy and eggs. These healthy fudge brownies are flourless so they would be gluten free, they don't use any refined sugar either, and they are also vegan since there is no dairy or eggs in them. These brownies turn out to be rich, soft and perfectly fudgy which is why it's so shocking that they only require three ingredients. There's also a nice frosting on top which is also healthy.

So to make these healthy brownies all you need is sweet potatoes, almond butter and cocoa powder. You can also use pumpkin puree or mashed bananas in place of the sweet potatoes depending on what you have on hand. You can use dark cocoa powder to really intensify the chocolate flavour and to mask the banana flavour if you're using bananas. This is one of those easy desserts you can whip up anytime for any occasion. All you do is melt your almond butter in a small bowl in your microwave or on the stovetop. Then mix the sweet potato, nut butter, and dark cocoa powder together really well. Next, you just put the mixture into a greased pan and bake in the oven. Once the brownies are baked, you can take them out of the oven and just make sure you allow them to cool completely before putting the frosting on otherwise it will melt all over. You can freeze them and then thaw them out too before you add the frosting. While you're waiting for them to cool, you can make one of the three kinds of frosting. There's a simple chocolate coconut frosting and all you need to make it is some coconut oil and chocolate chips. You simply heat the ingredients to mix them and then spread the frosting over the brownies once they're cooled.

There's also a cream cheese frosting and a protein powder frosting. The cream cheese frosting is not vegan of course unless you try using a vegan cream cheese like Daiya. Once you have your brownies frosted, they are ready to eat. You can also freeze these brownies with the frosting on and thaw them slightly which gives them an even fudgier texture.
