3-Layer Buttermilk Cake with Chocolate Frosting
What is it about layered cakes that just look so majestic and regal? Why not make this awesome 3-Layer Buttermilk Cake with Chocolate Frosting for someone special for their birthday or maybe just for any occasion! Three layer cakes have been made for centuries, people used to make their cakes with jam or fruit preserves as the filling in between layers, especially in England, and they still do use the jams or preserves in cakes. This cake is a white cake with chocolate frosting, so you get the two different colours so you can really notice the nice layers. Some people think that making a three layer cake is too fancy, or too difficult to do, but it is just not true. Three layer cakes do take a little more time and patience, but really, it is just like making 3 separate cakes and stacking them on top of each other after icing them. So, really it is not that much more work, you just triple the recipes for the cake and the icing!
