Apple Pie Pull Apart Bread with Maple Glaze

There are hundreds, if not thousands of homemade bread recipes all over the internet. There are different loaves of bread, rolls, and buns; there are also recipes for pull apart bread like this one for apple pie pull apart bread with a maple glaze. This bread is not only great as a dessert recipe but also as a breakfast recipe too. You can eat some of this bread for breakfast, and it would be much like eating a muffin. Carrian from Oh Sweet Basil says that this is her new favourite breakfast tradition and it's her daughter's favourite too. One of the nice things about this dessert recipe is that you don't even have to make homemade bread to make the pull apart apple pie bread. You can just use some frozen bread roll dough like Pillsbury or Rhodes dinner rolls. She combined her other yummy dessert recipes for Cinnamon Roll Apple Danishes and Maple Bar Pancakes together to create this epic recipe. The recipe will make about 6 to 8 servings, and it takes about 2 hours and 35 minutes to make, so make sure you prepare it ahead of time.

All you need is 22 defrosted frozen rolls for the base of the recipe. You can also make your own homemade bread rolls if you prefer, but doing it this way is so much easier than having to fuss over making homemade bread. Then you will need your ingredients for the apple pie filling including butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Then, you'll need the apples, more butter, sugar, cinnamon, and more flour. For the glaze, you'll need butter, powdered sugar, maple extract and vanilla with a little bit of cream. First make the filling by mixing the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour together and then set half of the amount of filling aside. To make the apples just heat up a pan on the stove and then add some butter and the apples. Cook the apples for about 5 minutes and when they are tender add in the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour. Then, you'll take the dough and roll each of the balls of dough out with a rolling pin into a small rectangular shape. Then you can start layering the pieces of bread dough with the filling and then the apples. Once each of the pieces of dough has some filling and apples on them you can then start stacking the pieces of apple covered dough on top of each other to make a pile and then when one pile is done, put it in a loaf pan sideways and then do the same with the rest of the dough and filling.

This is where you'll have to wait a bit and let the dough rise for one hour. You can also put it in the fridge overnight and then let it rest for 20 minutes before you bake it. When it's ready to bake, put the bread into the heated oven and bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes. After 15 minutes put some foil over the top of the bread, so it doesn't get too dark on top. To make the glaze simply melt butter in a bowl and then whisk in the powdered sugar, maple extract, vanilla extract and heavy cream. When the bread has cooled down enough, you can drizzle the glaze over top of the bread and cut or pull apart into pieces and serve. This bread has about 703 calories and 19.1 grams of fat per serving. It also has 33.1 milligrams of cholesterol, 117.3 grams of carbohydrates and 31.8 grams of sugar.
