Boston Cream Pie

It is served very cold. The pie was created in Boston, of course, well over 100 years ago. Its very first derivation included a layer of almonds in the middle, which would add a lovely texture to the whole cake. Boston Cream Pie is the official dessert of Massachusetts, and has held that honor for about 25 years.
