Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars
Do you love cookie dough? Here is a great recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars! Don't you just love eating the raw cookie dough when you are making cookies? It just brings back such fond memories of eating a spoon of it when we were baking cookies as kids, doesn't it? My mom would always do a little teaspoon for me and sometimes one for her, and I would just love the way the uncooked batter tasted. You are probably the same too! But some people are always leery of eating things with raw eggs in them, because of salmonella poisoning, or other types of food poisoning you can get from raw eggs. We must have built up an immunity from it or something!
If you are one of the leery ones about eating raw cookies dough than here is a recipe for you to try. It has all the flavours of raw cookie dough, but without the eggs! Perfect! There is also a nice layer of crushed graham crackers and some cream cheese in there too, to really make it savoury! Then it is topped with some nice chocolate sauce drizzled all over the top of it. What a great idea!
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in Whitman, Massachusetts, where she owned the Toll House Inn, a very popular restaurant in it's time if the 1930's. She finally published a recipe for Toll House chocolate crunch cookies in a recipe book in 1938, called Toll House Tried and True Recipes. They cookies became an intently popular treat made in homes all across America! Now, we can even buy a package of pre made Toll House cookie dough to make the same beloved recipe at home, or make it from scratch at home too or variations of the cookie dough like this recipe!
