Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Balls
This recipe for Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Balls will appeal to all chocoholics as well as peanut-a-holics (is there such a thing? I know I can eat peanut butter right out of the jar, and I am pretty sure I am not the only one!). The blend of peanuts and chocolate is a wonderful combination of flavors that many people really enjoy. Not every one, of course, love peanuts, and a surprising number of people seem to suffer sensitivity to legumes that prohibits them from being able to indulge in any thing to do with peanuts. Here, though, peanuts are the one redeeming element in a dish devoted to butter and sugar with almost the same fervor and commitment that we might expect to find in fudge, that other entirely indulgent sweet we are all so gaga over.
In any case, this snack or treat is also pretty easy to make, and little helping hands can do plenty of the work, and they will want to, when they see what they are making. The end result might not be as wonderfully perfect looking as the treats shown in Alexandra’s Kitchen’s web site photos, but so what? They will have all the great flavor and all the fun of having made them with the kids. As mentioned, peanut butter may be the one redeeming feature in this fat and sugar rich (yum) recipe. Peanut butter, when you buy it without added sugars or salt, is a great food. It is especially good for kids to provide them with lots of good energy, quickly. Peanuts are loaded with the good fats, lots of protein, and many vitamins and minerals.
This recipe is fun and easy to make. Once you prepare the filling, the kids can roll them in to balls, and then have a ball dipping them in chocolate. Chill them as long as you can (until the kids whining gets to you) and then serve on a pretty platter. Enjoy!
