Churro Bundt Cake
This churro bundt cake recipe is beautiful enough to serve for a special occasion but easy enough to prepare any day of the week. This cake takes the tastes of cinnamon and sugar, just like the signature dusting that churro doughnuts have. Unlike the churro doughnut, this is a baked cake rather than a fried dough. Churro recipes are usually made up of the classic choux pastry dough, which is made light and fluffy from the addition of eggs. Churros are most popular in Spanish-speaking countries, like Mexico and Spain, but are favorites in other parts of the world, too. Once churros are fried, they are dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche, a caramel prepared with condensed milk. This cake recipe is an excellent representation of churro doughnuts because it is a fluffy cake crusted in delicious cinnamon and sugar.
The method for how to make churros is different from this bundt cake recipe, but the process of dusting with cinnamon sugar is the same. Once the cake is removed from its pan and allowed to cool, it is coated in melted butter followed by the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Cinnamon comes from the tree bark of trees in Southeast Asia and is most commonly used in sweet dishes, but may be used in savory ones as well. Although sugar has the reputation of spiking blood sugar, cinnamon may help to regulate it. The nutritional value of cinnamon is another reason to incorporate cinnamon into your baking and cooking recipes, because it contains very high levels of dietary fiber, calcium, and manganese, in addition to high amounts of iron.
The process of cake baking is a science since all the ingredients have to work together to create the perfect texture, flavor, and appearance. Firstly, the pan has to be prepared in the best way to ensure that the cake doesn’t stick when you try to remove it. In the case of this bundt cake recipe, cooking spray with flour is thoroughly sprayed all over the bundt pan. Bundt pans are especially difficult when preparing cake recipes because they have several grooves where cake can become stuck easily. Using a spray for greasing will ensure that those cracks are greased well and that your cake comes out beautiful. Another critical component to cake baking is to measure all the ingredients with the correct tool and method. Liquid ingredients, even sour cream, should be measured in a liquid measuring cup, while dry ingredients should be measured in dry measuring cups. When measuring dry ingredients, always scoop the dry ingredient into the measuring cup and level off with a knife to ensure ingredients like flour don’t pack down.

If desired, serve this churro cake recipe with a dipping sauce, like you would with churros. A classic chocolate sauce recipe would be warm and consist of melted chocolate with cream. Dulce de leche is another sauce variety that involves cooking sugar and condensed milk into a caramel consistency. Rather than make your own, dulce de leche is widely available in the grocery store.
