Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli is an easy way to make a really popular and great tasting dinner dish at a reasonable cost. It is both nutritious and delicious. Broccoli is one of the most popular of veggies among the little folk, perhaps because of its bright color, maybe because they can pick it up in their fingers, perhaps because of its cute shape, or, who knows? And really, de we care? This is perhaps one of the best veggies you could get your kids to eat, and it is almost always available and cheap to buy, even in the organic section. Whether you steam it, fry it, or add it in to another dish, broccoli is almost always welcome at the table by the kids (and every one else, of course, but it is the kids we are always fighting with to “eat the veggies”). And broccoli serves up surprisingly well with so many other dishes and flavors, such as this crock pot beef.

This recipe makes a bit of a play on an oriental dish, using sesame oil (a must have in your kitchen) brown sugar, soy sauce and other similar ingredients to produce a sweet and sour flavor that flavors the crock pot beef. The broccoli and meat are cooked in that seasoning to produce a great result. The whole thing is served over white rice, but consider brown, or any of the other really great rice choices that are available now. That way, you bolster the nutrition of this dish, and the rice and meat make a good protein complement. The family will enjoy this dish and be happy to eat it every week. They might even request that you make it for dinner (what a coup)! The flavor of beef and broccoli is a yummy one, and it offers great nutrition that you can feel good about feeding your family, especially if you choose grass fed beef and organic broccoli. As well, this beef and broccoli dish is quick for you to throw together since it is made in a crock pot.

Crock pots are the miracle tool of cooking. They are super cheap to buy, easy to operate, quick to clean, and almost fail proof when it comes to making dinner. Meats turn out juicy and tender, falling from the bone in ways that take an expert cook to produce in a regular oven. Sauces are perfected, and faults fall away when you cook using this method. Even my daughter has success with this method of cooking, and she is a walking kitchen disaster (seriously, I love my daughter, but I never thought there could be someone for whom cooking and baking are anathema to her life and very existence!).

In fact, this recipe can be very quick if you take the seasonings and make a marinate and leave the beef to sit over night in them. That way the flavor really infuses the beef, improves and speeds the tenderizing of the meat, and generally makes the dish taste even better. Try this crock pot beef and broccoli dish soon. It will get rave reviews from every one at the dinner table, even the kids. Enjoy.
