An inevitable part of spring and summer is all of the bugs that come out to play and live their lives eating and crawling all over our food. Try out this Easy fruit fly trap the next time you are finding there are just way too many of these little critters crawling around your kitchen. There are so many things that people try and do to get these little annoying creatures out of their homes, but only a few things really work well. Like this home made fruit fly trap that you can put together with household stuff you probably already have laying around your house.

This great tutorial shows us another great way to catch these pests by laying out some bait for them to want to feed on. This is the key, you want the bait to be out where they would normally be, so on your kitchen counter or maybe on top of your fridge so you don't have to look at it all the time. They used what seems to be a mango all mushed up to really expose the sugary sweet scent. But you could use anything like bananas, apples, water melon, grapes, anything you think they would be attracted to.

Then the apple cider vinegar also attracts them strongly too, they love that fermented scent, which is why they hang around glasses of wine and things like that. They put a piece of saran wrap over the top with little holes, so that they can get in, but can't really find a way out so they just end up dying... Sounds kind of mean, but it works to get them out of your kitchen which is what you want, right? The other thing you can do is not keep compost out on the counter, and keep your garbage sealed.
