Easy Peanut Butter Pie
Here is a wonderful Peanut Butter Pie recipe to treat your family to on a Saturday night. This dessert can likely be made in just a few minutes, but does require plenty of time in the fridge before serving it. This dessert can be made with handy little helping hands that will be glad to be of service. Payment can be made in peanuts, or in a serving of the filling before you spoon all of it in to the pie once the shell is baked and cooled—or both, of course.
This dish starts with a vanilla cookie base, blended with butter, and pressed in to the pan and then baked. A base such as this one can have all kinds of fun ingredients added in to it. As just a few examples, you could grind up, or just finely chop (depending on the consistency that you like in the base) almonds, walnuts, or pecans—or repeat the peanuts. Nuts add a creamy, and well, nutty flavor, that is really nice in pie. You could also add spices such as cinnamon or vanilla, to the base. There are lots of ways to play with this base if you want something a bit stepped up. The filling contains peanut butter, a food filled with nutrition if you buy natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt. That peanut butter is loaded with good fats, lots of protein and plenty of vitamins and minerals that support good health. As well, the peanuts and peanut butter will slow the digestion of the sugar and help to prevent a sugar spice when you eat this dessert.
The dessert is topped with whipped cream, made with sugar. Be sure to add sugar to the cream. This is one dessert where the flavor of the cream will improve with the addition of a small amount of sugar, as suggested in the recipe. You and your family will enjoy this pie when you make it, so try it soon.
