The recipe we are featuring is for a Funfetti Millionaire Cake. Are you familiar with the beauty?

This three-layer cake will make you feel like you just won the lottery! The colors, layers, and textures we are going to reveal. At a first glance at these fabulous photos taken by the very talented baker, Linsay make you at first say to yourself, what are in those layers?

We are going to let you know so you will really start to salivate. The bottom layer is a funfetti cheesecake. YES, a cheesecake, made from scratch with some yummy ingredients.

The second layer is a Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix.

The top layer is a from scratch Funfetti mousse. It has white chocolate and heavy cream to give you a little inkling of what to expect. You make the cheesecake first, and you should plan to start early in the day as the cheesecake must be cooled at least 6 hours before assembly.

You will bake the cake and make the mousse as Linsay will lay out and describe as you go onto her recipe site. As a matter of fact, she gives you very good instructions so fear not this beautiful dessert. In fact plan on making it for someone very special soon.

When did 'Funfetti' come to be? We could not find that information but did find a source saying it was introduced about 1990 by Pillsbury. What we can tell you is that 'sprinkles' are a cake candy decoration. There is also 'glitter' and another term is 'jimmies' which dates back to 1930. The concept is fun, fun, fun. Cake candies are bright and colorful. They evoke feelings of magic and fairies, make believe and confetti. The point is to bring joy and happiness.
