It adds a nice rich flavor to gravies and sauces. You can make your own browning seasoning sauce by heating 1/2 c of sugar (brown or white) in a pot over low heat until it starts to melt and darken. Remove from heat and whisk in a cup of water to dissolve the sugar. Whisk in a teaspoon of beef soup base. Heat and stir until dissolved well. Watch out for splattering.
