Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken

A Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken recipe is a classic treat that you can make up for any meal or any time of the day or even when guests are planning to stop by. Basically, this chicken recipe is enjoyed by almost all, and is a quick and easy dish to prepare for any reason. This pineapple chicken recipe is also so easy that the kids can be allowed to put it together. This is not a bad plan because, whenever they want a snack, you can let them prepare something such as this dish, and know they are getting great nutrition and good food, even without your supervision in the kitchen.

Chicken is a great meat to eat that earned a bad reputation for a little while because of the high cholesterol contained in it. Eggs also suffered the same fate, also briefly. But after some research, though, we learned that the problem with fat was not necessarily in the cholesterol levels, but in the type of fat that was being consumed. And chicken is a very low fat food, so in that respect, it is a great one to offer for dinner (or lunch!). Chicken is also low in calories and so is a popular choice with people who might be dieting or following a restricted meal plan. As well, since chicken has a relatively mild flavor many people are willing to eat this meat when they might prefer to not eat beef or pork.

Pineapple is also an interesting fruit, high in acidity. It is loaded with vitamin C, manganese, copper, Vitamin B6, and even fiber and folate. So this is a great fruit to include in your food plan for the family. As well, pineapple is thought to improve digestion, although there is no clear research to support this belief. Still, slices of pineapple, cut fresh, are a wonderful, tangy and sweet thing to serve family and friends after dinner. It definitely clears the palette. This dish adds the pineapple (or at least some of it) to the dish after the chicken is cooked. In this pineapple and chicken recipe the chicken is lightly browned and then moved to a pan where the rest of the ingredients are added and then all of it is baked in the oven. Serve this chicken recipe with rice, whether a brown rice, even wild rice (which we all know is really a grain) or stick to the classic jasmine, if your family prefers a white rice for dinner. Steamed green beans would also taste great as a side. And all of these ingredients will make a delicious and balanced meal that all the family will members will enjoy for dinner tonight.
