Looking for some fun breakfast ideas that are also healthy? Or maybe healthy dessert recipes? This hazelnut brownie overnight oats recipe might just be the next thing to try out. The best thing is, you make them the night before so that they are ready for you to eat first thing when you get up in the morning. This gives you a nice start to the day because oats are very filling and keep you satiated for a long period of time, plus you feel like you've had a nice treat too. Overnight oats are a great idea for anyone who is on the go in the morning. They provide you with a healthy option that you don't have to make in the morning and can be healthier than a sugary granola bar or shake. This would also be awesome for kids too because they need a healthy start to their day to keep their brains healthy and functioning at school all day. This is one of the fun breakfast ideas that could even replace their sugary breakfast cereals. Those cereals give us a rush of energy right when we eat them, but unlike when you eat oats, the energy is burned up very quickly leading us to need more nourishment. There are so many different overnight oat fun breakfast ideas out there, but this brownie batter one sounds perfect for those who love chocolate.

It tastes nice and rich as a brownie would, but it’s full of nutrients. All you need is some old-fashioned oats, coffee creamer in hazelnut flavour, cocoa powder, Greek yoghurt, salt, vanilla, and some protein powder in chocolate flavour. Mix everything up in a big bowl and scoop the mixed ingredients into containers like mason jars. Then put the lids on the jars and leave everything overnight in the fridge. The next morning they'll be all ready to go. You can even add some chocolate chips or some fruit like cherries or raspberries to the oats to give it a little extra flavour. There are so many different variations you could try. You could also dress them up as healthy desserts too and add some whipped cream and chocolate sauce if you wanted to. There are also some ways you could make this recipe even healthier too by using some coconut milk or cream in place of the coffee creamer and adding in some honey or maple syrup as the sweetener.

Instead of using Greek yoghurt you could use coconut yoghurt for a vegan or dairy free option if you're lactose intolerant. The protein powder could even be a vegan option, and the cocoa powder could be cacao powder for the added health benefits. Even though you just change a few letters, cocoa and cacao are different. Cacao is the raw, cacao plant beans that haven't been treated or heated to be made into cocoa that we usually find in stores. In fact, cacao has been recognized more and more as a health food product that has been called a superfood because of all the great nutrients in it. Raw cacao actually contains a good amount of magnesium which is great for our muscles and for fighting stress. Real chocolate, meaning not the watered down milk chocolate, is best though. Adding in some fruit would also be a great healthy addition to these fun breakfast ideas, and you could play around with the flavours a bit too.
