And it won't take you long to make, about three hours at the cost of between $15 to 25. For this DIY idea, you will need a variety of fall foliage, LED lit branch, scissors, floral wire, floral tape and a door hanger. For the full step by step instructions for this floral DIY idea, you will want to take a look at the Hometalk site.
Step One. To start you will need to pull all of the flowers apart, so they are individual flower pieces versus grouped flowers in bunches.
Step Two. For this fun DIY project you will need to unwind your LED branch and spread out all of the twiggy parts, so they stick out from the sides.
Step Three. Next you want to arrange your background floral elements overtop of the LED branch. For the background fall flowers, it is a good idea to use smaller flowers and grassy or twiggy pieces. You will be making three separate clusters of flowers that will go down the LED branch with the largest cluster at the top. Make sure to just arrange one big flower cluster towards the top of the branch at this point.
Step Four. Take your floral tape and wrap the stems of the background flowers and twigs to the LED branch. Trim any excess stems away from the piece.
Step Five. Bend the stems of your sunflowers or whatever variety of flowers you have, so that the flower sit flatly over the background flowers and then place it where you want. Wrap the wire stem around the LED branch to hold it in place. You can also tape down the stem to give it extra security.
Step Six. Fill in any of the empty spaces by putting extra small flowers behind your main flowers and secure them in place on the branch.
Step Seven. For this DIY idea and project to do you will be making three flower clusters that will go down the length of the branch. For the second flower cluster move down a good six to eight inches and repeat all the steps done above, but making a smaller cluster of flowers.
Step Eight. Bend the top of your LED branch over so that the branch has a nice hook on which to hang the hanger from. Using a door hanger, you will need a nail or a crew or even a sticky hanger to hang your floral arrangement onto the door of your choice. This diy idea looks good on a variety of door colors. The materials you will need for this DIY idea and project to do include fake flowers that you can find at the dollar store or Micheals, LED branch from Micheals, and floral tape from dollar store.
