When you're grossed out by the dust, hair, and dirt in your window tracks, you know it's time to give them a good cleaning. Our window tracks can get pretty dirty, pretty fast especially if you have your windows opened a lot. All of the dirt from outside tends to get caught in the little pockets of the tracks which can be kind of hard to clean out because it's not your usual flat surface that's easy to wipe. Luckily, there is an extremely easy way to clean these tracks, and it uses all natural cleaners. If you've changed or you're changing over all of your cleaning supplies to natural cleaners, kudos to you. Not only will you be environmentally friendly, but you'll also spare yourself and your family from all of the harmful toxins that come from chemical cleaners. Usually, for a cleaning task like this one, people will use a regular glass cleaner, and even glass cleaners like Windex contain a bunch of chemicals in them. Plus the fragrance they add in which has some toxic elements and the blue dye which can't be good either. Once you make the switch over to all natural cleaners, you realise that all of the chemicals in these cleaning products are not necessary to clean your house. Some times natural cleaners end up doing an even better job anyway.

You can make your own all purpose cleaner that you can use as a glass cleaner too. All that goes into it is some vinegar and water, which are both things you probably already have on hand. You simply fill an empty spray bottle up halfway with white distilled vinegar and then pour in water to fill it the rest of the way. Then you just shake it up and use it as needed. You can also add some essential oils to the mixture or some freshly squeezed lemon juice to give it a nice fresh scent. In this great cleaning tip from The Intentional Mom, Jennifer teaches us how to clean our window tracks using some of the cleaning tips she's learned along the way. For this cleaning hack, you're going to need some baking soda, vinegar, paper towel, rags, an old toothbrush, and a butter knife. First of all, you simply take the baking soda and sprinkle it all over the window tracks you can use a spoon to make it easier. Then take some vinegar and pour it over the baking soda. Like the science experiment we all learned back in grade school, the vinegar and the baking soda will react and start fizzing up. This is a good thing to have happen when it comes to cleaning. Leave the mixture on there for about 10 minutes and then come back and start scrubbing with your toothbrush. That will loosen all of the dirt and dust. Then, wipe that up with a paper towel. Wipe out any residue with your rag, and then for the rest of the dirt stuck in the crevices, just take your butter knife and cover it with your cloth to get into those tight spaces.

You can spray the area with some vinegar and water and wipe it clean once more just to get anything that's left behind, and you'll have the cleanest window tracks ever. You can do this once every few months to keep your window tracks nice and clean. Enjoy this and many other great cleaning tips from The Intentional Mom website.
