Cheesy Zucchini Casserole

2 cups zucchini, sliced thin
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 large onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 egg, beaten
4 slices bread, cubed
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 green onions, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 3500F.
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish lightly with butter and set aside.
Wash, dry and slice the zucchini into thin rounds.
In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, onion, garlic salt and egg.
Mix in the bread cubes.
Gently fold in the zucchini and mix until well combined.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Top with the cheese.
Cover baking dish with aluminium foil and transfer to the preheated oven.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake, uncovered, for another 20 minutes or until a nice golden color.
Remove from oven and sprinkle on chopped green onions to garnish. Serve hot.
