Honey Glazed Ham
It is hard to resist a sweet holiday ham like this Honey Glazed Ham recipe. When it comes to holiday family dinner ideas, or even just regular meal ideas, ham is one of the main types of meat that gets chosen to be featured on the dinner table. Many people enjoy cooking a ham for Easter or Thanksgiving, and the glaze that you put on it just takes the ham to another level. The flavour combination of sweet and salty is unforgettable, and always has people coming back for more. Pig's meat is also considered a red meat like Cow's meat is. Some cuts of pork are leaner than beef though. When you make this recipe we recommend that you find an organic source for your pork and preferably one that doesn't use a lot of antibiotics. You can find farms where pigs are raised to be happy and healthy. Using organic, free range meat will make all the difference for your pork dinner ideas.***

1 (5lb) ready-to-eat-ham
1/2 - 1 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey
2/3 cups butter
Tools: A silicone basting brush.
Preheat the oven to 325F.
Line a baking pan with aluminum foil, taking the foil about 1/2 way up the sides. The foil is to contain the sticky glaze and will make for easier cleanup later.
Take the ham from its packaging and score the top in two directions make the diamond shapes. Stud the ham with the cloves.
Place the ham into the prepared pan and place into the preheated oven.
Meanwhile to make the glaze, use a double boiler and combine the brown sugar with the honey and butter. This is going to be your glazing sauce so you want to just keep it warm so it is easy to spread.
Plan to bake the ham about 1 hour and 15 minutes. As the ham is baking use the warm glaze you have on the stove top and brush some glaze onto the ham every 15 minutes. Use a silicone brush. The bristle once can get hairy in the sticky sauce and possibly loose some of its hairs.
Bake for one hour and 10 minutes, then for the last 5 minutes of baking, turn on the the broiler to caramelize the glaze.
Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before slicing.
