Old Time Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
One of the classic cookies that never go out of style in almost every household are the chocolate chip cookies. This Old Time Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe is the easiest one among many other recipes for chocolate chip cookies. You can use both bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate chips for this recipe. However using dark chocolate chips with more than 70 percent cacao would be a healthier option. Dark chocolate is a wonderful source of antioxidants, improves cardiovascular health and contains essential nutrients like fiber and iron. While it is easy to buy chocolate chip cookies from a store rather than making them from scratch, it may not always be a healthy option. You never know what's being added to the readymade cookies. This chocolate chip cookies recipe is a healthier variation as it does not use shortening, palm oil, corn syrup or other unhealthy ingredients, unlike the store-bought ones. Makes about 48 cookies

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Lightly grease a baking sheet, or two if you have.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer combine and mix together the butter, granulated and brown sugar on medium until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in the dry ingredients half at a time until well combined.
Using a wooden spoon fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop the batter from a teaspoon about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake only one sheet of cookies at a time for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove the cookies onto cooling racks. Refill the baking sheet until and repeat the baking process until all your cookie dough is used.
