Meatballs make the perfect easy dinner idea. They're hearty and full of protein with tons of flavour in just a small bite-sized form. Meatballs are pretty easy to make from scratch, but if you need to save some time you can try out this easy dinner idea that uses frozen premade meatballs in casserole form. Casseroles are another way you can make really easy meals in a snap. You just throw everything into a casserole dish, put it in your oven and it could be ready in as little as a half an hour. This recipe only takes about 20 minutes to bake once you put it in the oven though. The recipe from Budget 101 makes a great meatball sandwich casserole filled with tender, juicy, and saucy meatballs and fresh bread. If you'd rather make your own meatballs from scratch at home, you can buy the type of meat you'd like and then form the meatballs yourself. As you're mixing all of the seasonings into your meatballs be sure you don't over handle the meat since this can result in tougher meatballs. You can avoid over mixing by stirring up all of the other ingredients first and then adding the meat in last breaking it into pieces as you mix it into the other ingredients.

To make your own meatballs from scratch, find a good, organic meat you'd like to use. Many people use beef or pork for their meatballs, but if you prefer something leaner try chicken or turkey meat. You can also find vegetarian and vegan meatballs as well if you would like to eat a plant-based meal. Adding in eggs to the meatball mixture will help to bind the meat together and adding some flour will help to dry up some of the liquid in the meatballs. So add these ingredients as needed. You can also add some chopped up onions, garlic and herbs like oregano, thyme and basil. Adding some garlic in will also help to bring some great flavour and aroma to the meatballs. You can also make your own homemade spice and herb mixes that are easy to pull out of your cabinet and use in recipes like this. You can use them in other casserole recipes and many more recipes too. When you're mixing the meat, it's hard to tell what the meatballs are going to takes like when they're done since it's unsafe and unhealthy to eat raw meat. So if you want to taste test the meat to see if it needs more seasoning, you can take a small piece and fry it up in a pan and then taste test it, that way it's safe to eat.

If you are buying meat, always try and get organic meat that doesn't contain hormones or antibiotics in it. Also, the organic meat won't contain a lot of fat like factory raised meats do. The soy meal that the factory raised animals eat causes the animals to gain a lot of fat which will mean that the meat you eat will contain a lot of fat. So organic pasture-raised meats are always best, and same goes for cheese, butter, milk and eggs too. Other ingredients you'll need for this recipe are a jar of spaghetti sauce, mozzarella cheese, an Italian blend of cheese, parmesan cheese and Italian bread. You also make a garlic butter for the bread which would add so much great flavour to this casserole recipe. You basically put all of the ingredients into a casserole dish much like other casserole recipes and then bake it all together to result in a wonderful easy casserole recipe.***
