Are you ready to try one of the most epic cake recipes ever? This is one of those dessert recipes you make when you're craving a really decadent dessert. This cake recipe is loaded with so many great ingredients and toppings that make it taste just like a Milky Way chocolate bar. It's also a poke cake recipe which means that the toppings seep all the way into the cake for a delicious cake all the way through. Nikki from Chef In Training also shares a Butterfinger Cake and an Oreo Cake which are also incredible, but even she says that this cake recipe is on another level. This cake includes chocolate cake with n0ugat filling and caramel. As if that isn't enough, it's then topped with whipped cream, more caramel and chopped up Milky Way chocolate bars. The first Milky Way bar was created in 1923 by Frank Mars in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The flavours were meant to mimic a popular drink at the time, a malted milk drink that was named the Milky Way after Earth’s galaxy. Then on March 10, 1925, Milky Way was registered as a trademark in the US. It made $800,000 one of the first years it was produced.

Then, in 1926 there were two flavours including the chocolate nougat with milk chocolate coating, and also a vanilla nougat with a dark chocolate coating. Back then, they only cost 5 cents. The slogan for the chocolate bar back in 1935 was "The sweet you can eat between meals." and then it became "At work, rest and play, you get three great tastes in a Milky Way." More recently, the chocolate bar's slogan is "Life's Better the Milky Way." It's a very popular chocolate bar in the US, but it can also be found in the UK, Australia and Canada. There are slight variations of the ingredients and packaging depending on the country, but they have a similar taste and the same name. This cake recipe calls for 1 box of chocolate cake mix, plus the ingredients that are needed to make that. You'll also need the ingredients to make your own nougat which will include butter, sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallow creme, and vanilla. You will also need a jar of caramel topping, a tub of cool whip and 3 regular sized Milky Way chocolate bars.

All you need to do to make this epic dessert recipe is bake the cake by following the directions on the box. If you'd rather not use a boxed cake mix, you can also make your own chocolate cake from scratch. This recipe would be good with a Crazy Cake or Wacky Cake recipe, or any other classic chocolate cake recipe you like. When your cake comes out of the oven, allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes. Then, make the nougat filling by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat then add in sugar and milk and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Bring the ingredients to a slow boil and keep stirring for 4 minutes or so. Then remove from the burner and stir in the marshmallow creme and vanilla and stir until they are mixed in completely. This is the fun part, Take the handle of a wooden spoon and start poking holes into your cake. Then pour the nougat filling into the holes in the cake. Next, pour the caramel into the holes as well. Then, let the cake cool down and once it's completely cooled spread the thawed whipped cream over the entire cake and sprinkle the chopped chocolate bar all over the top too. Keep in the fridge until you're ready to enjoy.***
