It’s summer time and who the heck wants to slave over a hot stove in the kitchen all day? That’s why we’re on the hunt for a few delectable desserts we don’t actually have to put in the oven! And wow, oh wow, look what we just dug up - this fabulous recipe for No Bake Mississippi Mud Pie Cheesecake. This is the most amazing combo of two delicious desserts in one – Mississippi Mud Pie and classic Cheese Cake. What exactly is Mississippi Mud Cake? Well, it’s a yummy pie dessert that finds its origins in the Mississippi area of the southern United States. Because of all of its lovely gooey chocolate ingredients and crumbly chocolate pie crust, it actually kind of looks like the dark rocky mud of the Mississippi riverbank – and this, believe it or not, is how it got its now-famous name!

It’s quite likely that Mississippi Mud Pie was invented just after World War II as it was made from easy-to-find, inexpensive ingredients and you didn’t need any fancy cooking utensils to make it. This still holds true to this very day – as you will soon see!

So San, the wonderful chef over at “A Dash of Sanity”, has come up with this brilliant variation of Mississippi Mud Pie, combining it with Cheese Cake – can you believe it? These are my two most favourite desserts and they’re bound to taste incredible together. San had already been cooking Mississippi Mud Cookies for her kids, and when they wanted more, she decided to give them something a little different. She got to work in the kitchen and voila – this lovely new hybrid was born. This is a lovely dish to serve up after your summer BBQ. It’s quick, easy, and you can stay cool while you’re making it!
