Oh so Easy Crock Pot Candy

The crock pot is once again the star of this recipe for Crock Pot Candy recipe, making it an easy and fun treat to put together. Of course, this recipe is easy enough for the kids as long as you manage the crock pot. But they will entirely enjoy tossing the ingredients in that need to be melted, then waiting for them to melt, doing the stirring, setting out the paper tins that will hold the crock pot candy when it is done, and so on. And they will have tons of fun spooning the melted part of the recipe out (dripping plenty that they can scoop up into their mouths).

This is a fun recipe to make on a day when you are planning to clean the kitchen. You can guess that this recipe will have plenty of gooeyness as part of it, and with the kids, lots of spills will get spilled (and then stepped in, and then spread everywhere). It will not matter, though, once the final treat comes together, and everyone gets one or two. And that is what the limit should be, given just how much sugar is in this recipe for crock pot candy. Fortunately, the recipe also includes peanuts, which are power houses of great nutrition. Peanuts are loaded with protein and good fats and provide a great counter to all the other bad fats that are loaded in this recipe. The peanuts will also help to slow down the absorption of the sugar, making a sugar spike less likely (hopefully) or at least not too much to bear.

This is an easy recipe that combines the saltiness of peanuts with all the sweetness of several kinds of chocolate and caramel. It will be a very sweet treat, so make the servings small, and consider serving them chilled to cut all that sweet. The contrast of salty and sweet is a great flavor with especially sweet dishes such as this one.
