Oreo Cookie Balls
This recipe will make plenty of these Oreo Cookie Balls with Salted Caramel Sauce and do it in short order, too. They should be chilled for some time for best flavor, but my guess is the kids will happily gobble these down at any temperature. And, once the main mixing is completed of the cream cheese and the Oreo cookie crumbs, the kids can dip the balls and help to drizzle them with salted caramel sauce. You could also use plain caramel sauce, which the kids might prefer, if they have not tasted the salted variation before.
These treats are quick and easy to make, so be sure to let the little hands help you out here. Kids almost always enjoy making things, and it is a great learning and totally enjoyable way to pass a lazy afternoon. It gets their minds active, and their bodies, to some degree, and sure beats sitting them in front of the television or the game boy. So make some of these today. Why not? The recipe is cheap, too, so you will not be out of pocket by much to make them. And, if you have a local grocery store, or even a corner store, and need some ingredients, you might possibly send the kids to get them. That way, they get some exercise before they start gobbling up these sweet treats.
These treats are sort of a play on truffles in the sense that they are round balls of yumminess coated in chocolate (or some other coating; there are many varieties that you can buy at the grocery store today). They are quick and easy to make, and the kids love them. One recipe often makes plenty, so consider wrapping them well, and freezing them. Then you can pull out a few at a time to have some kind of portion control over the gobbling that kids can so easily do
