Pudding Cake

This recipe for Pudding Cake creates a rich, thick and creamy dessert that every one will want tonight, and then again after dinner as a late night snack. This recipe is quick to make, using commercial pudding mixes and whipped topping to help speed the process along. There are about four layers of flavor in this cake, and they look attractive in the pan, too, so be sure to set the entire pudding cake out for every one to admire your handiwork.

The bottom layer is made from butter, flour and pecans. Pecans will bring a tender crunch and lots of light sweetness to this blend as well as packing punch in terms of its nutrients. Pecans are loaded with good fats, lots of protein, and loads of magnesium and calcium, among other vitamins and minerals. The next layer includes the whipped topping (or you can make your own whipped cream) and cream cheese. Cream cheese is also a source for protein, as well as plenty of minerals. The pudding mixes are added next to create a creamy layer of chocolate richness. More of the whipped topping is added before grating a Hershey bar over the entire pudding cake.

This dessert is quick to prepare, but the pudding cake does need plenty of time in the fridge to let the flavors come together well, and to get the dessert firm enough to cut more easily. Let the pudding cake sit over night, if you can convince the kids to wait (which can be nearly impossible). The kids can also help make this cake. It is easy and fun to prepare, and there are plenty of parts that your new bakers can attempt by themselves. So try this recipe out the next time you all want something delicious (for tomorrow). Enjoy this recipe soon. Your family will appreciate it!
