Pumpkin Spice Caramel Sauce

The flavors of pumpkin and caramel come together beautifully in this recipe for Pumpkin Spice Caramel Sauce. This recipe is super simple to make, and has a thousand different applications and uses. It is a recipe that is rich, thick, and delicious. Make double the amount called for in the recipe, because that is how many times your fingers are going to dip in to the sauce as you make it (just to be sure it is turning out as it should, of course!). Of course, if you dip, so will all the little ones. Consider what you could dip in the sauce rather than fingers.

This dish is great for dipping sauce. Serve it warm surrounded by fresh fruit. Almost any fruit would taste fabulous. Think about apples, especially Granny Smith, or bananas, or even oranges or mandarins. Or try nuts. In this case, put the nuts in a dish (and get both salted and unsalted ones) and drizzle the sauce over the top of the nuts. Let people scoop the mixture on to ice cream or yogurt. Of course you could get really decadent and make a sort of fondue, and let people dip all kinds of things. Fruit would be great, but what about marshmallows? Or even pretzels? Even sweet breads, torn up, would taste fabulous.

Of course, this is just an entirely decadent Pumpkin Spice Caramel Sauce that can be put on just about anything. Cake is the obvious choice for this sauce (think warm sauce and whipped cream), but also think about all the other wonderful things that would go with this spicy and warm sauce. Cookies would also work, of course, as would a sweet bread or even pumpkin muffins. There are lots of options. So make lots because you will be using it over and over again. Enjoy this recipe soon.
