Chocolate cherry lush - the cherry dessert recipe that will make you eyes pop and your taste buds crave for more. Conjured up by Trish at Mom on Timeout, this chocolate cake recipe is the perfect combination of chocolate and cherry will quickly become one of your favorite desserts. Mom on Timeout was started in 2011, and over the years it has amassed some of the most creative and mouth-watering recipes to try out. Trish has delicious recipes for all meals, and everyone's personal favourite, dessert. There are also crafts, DIY, and even a teacher appreciation section on her website, where you learn how to put together the best gift basket for your children's teacher. And accompanying all of this are striking photographs that Trish takes herself. The picture of this chocolate cherry lush is enough to make anyone want to make one right now.

Fortunately this is one of those dessert recipes that is simple and fast to make. All you have to do is simply make the foundational crust, then layer it with cherry pie filling, a creamy layer with cream cheese and more, chocolate pudding, and finish it off with a healthy layer of Cool Whip. And go crazy with whatever garnish you are desiring. You can top it off with some sweet maraschino cherry bits, some shaved dark chocolate or even some chocolate sauce to make things really chocolatey. Then all you have to do to set this cherry dessert recipe is just chill and then you can serve it when it is set.

This recipe is so simple to make and elegant in its design, that it also encourages you to experiment to your liking. For example, for the fourth pudding layer, you can use other flavors other than just chocolate, for example vanilla. Trish also recommends fat-free, sugar-free ingredients and light Cool Whip. But instead of using Cool Whip you could use real dairy whipping cream which is more of a whole food since Cool Whip tends to have some artificial flavours and ingredients in it. If you wanted a vegan option with no dairy in it, or of you or anyone in your family or friends circle is vegan or lactose intolerant, you can modify the ingredients by using a coconut whip instead of the Cool Whip or whipped cream too. There are lots of recipes for making a whipped topping out of coconut cream on the internet that are pretty easy to do. You can also make jello pudding dessert recipes out of coconut cream or avocado, which might sound weird, but once you get some sweetener and coco powder in, it really tastes like real chocolate pudding but it is a healthier option that gives you some great nutrition in the long run. Don't forget you can always refrigerate this dessert so you can enjoy it whenever this craving returns.
