Quick n Easy Monkey Bread

A fun easy recipe from a member of the Cast Iron Cooking Facebook group for Quick & Easy Monkey Bread. According to wikipedia, Monkey bread, also called monkey puzzle bread, sticky bread, African coffee cake, golden crown, pinch-me cake, pluck-it cake, bubbleloaf and monkey brains is a sweet, sticky, gooey pastry served in the United States for breakfast. It consists of pieces of soft bread with cinnamon sprinkled on it. It is served at fairs and other parks as a treat.

Ingredients

20 canned cinnamon rolls, cut in 1/2 and rolled into balls.

* check the can to see how many they make, you will like need 2 packages

1 stick of butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

Place the cinnamon roll balls in a preheated cast iron skilled that has been greased well.

Melt 1 stick of butter in sauce pan.

Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, stir, and boil, then turn off the heat.

Add 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

Pour mixture over the cinnamon balls.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes or until brown.

Remove from oven, drizzle on the icing (from the can) and serve warm.
