Sure its easy to buy the pre made chocolate bars at the store, but it is also one of the very simple dessert recipes that you can make at home and have fun with.
Peanut butter and chocolate make such a good pair, so good, that some would argue they make a better pair than peanut butter and jam or jelly. There is something about the salty flavour of the peanut butter, mixed with the sweet decadence of chocolate that is so yummy and satisfying. There are many chocolate bars with peanuts or peanut butter in them like Eatmore, Snickers, Oh Henry bars, Butterfinger and of course Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to name a few. Peanuts can be a bit of a tricky food item at times since so many people have allergies to them, that can cause severe symptoms. So it is important that you always tell people that there is peanut butter in something before they eat it, or ask the children coming to your child's birthday party to tell you of any food allergies they might have so you can plan accordingly.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were first created and invented in 1928 by H. B. Reese. H. B. Reese was a dairy farmer before he became an employee for Milton S. Hershey working in the shipping department. Reese was so inspired by Hershey, the maker of the famous milk chocolate bars that he started his own chocolate bar making operation in his basement. Hershey's chocolate bars were actually used in the production of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and they became his most popular selling candy bar. So popular that it got his name. There are also now many different candy bars that came from the original Reese's Peanut Butter Cups idea. They include the mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, the giant Reese's Peanut Butter Cups as well as Honey Roasted, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate:, and even Peanut Butter & Banana Creme cups. Of course there are also Reece's Pieces, like we see in simple dessert recipes like this one, as well as Reese's Brownies, Reese's Sticks and Reese's Cereal Puffs and even more items too.
