Looking for a luscious new dessert recipe to add to your repertoire? If you like sweet and salty, as SO many of us do, then you might want to check out this sweet recipe for Saltine Toffee!

Aimee is the talented chef and author of “Shugary Sweets”, the blog where we found this amazing recipe. In addition to taking care of her husband, four kids, and two dogs, she really enjoys taking care of her sweet tooth, too. Passionate about desserts of all kinds, she started her blog back in 2011 and has never looked back. She loves sharing her sugary discoveries, and we’re sure glad she loves sharing them too. Especially this one! Once we start eating those saltine toffees, we’re never gonna stop!

A word to the wise: there’s a little disclaimer over at Aimee’s blog. She says she’s not responsible for “weight gain or damage to your keyboard from excessive drooling”. Good one! It’s really hard not to drool when we gaze at this mouth-watering photo.

So let’s get on to the saltines now, shall we? A saltine is actually just a thin, crispy, soda cracker that’s been sprinkled with salt. It’s usually made from flour, yeast, and baking soda. It’s wonderful for any kind of salt craving, but Aimee has much bigger plans for it in this recipe. She literally drenches it in hot buttery toffee, bakes it until the sweet flavour has completely soaked into the saltine, and then what does she do? She drizzles chocolate all over it! This recipe’s gonna make you the most popular guest at the party! You can make a lot to take with you and you can make a lot to keep at home too. The best thing about it? It’s quick and easy. All you need are the right ingredients!
