Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce
One of the most popular sauces of all time besides ketchup of course, might just be the beloved Sriracha sauce. Now you can make this awesome sauce at home, with this super easy recipe for Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce! There was a rumour going around that the Sriracha plant may shut down in California, or that it did but just took a break from operating. The reason being, was because the fumes from processing all of the hot peppers were becoming a hazard for people who lived in the area, making their eyes and respiratory systems burn. I can see how that would happen, since when you even cut too many of these little potent peppers, your eyes will water and you might have a hard time breathing depending on how strong they are.
Well, some people were freaking out that their all time favourite spicy condiment was no longer going to be available to buy anymore! What will we do, we might actually have to learn how to make it ourselves?! Good thing that this recipe is here to save the day and help people to keep around their favourite spicy sauce. The author over at Steamy Kitchen, Jaden, breaks down the ingredients of this perfectly balanced sauce that she makes, which is essentially like the good old rooster sauce, but tweaked a little.
Jaden says that for balance, all of the flavours must be present, sweet, spicy, sour, savoury, and salty and then the bitter also does to. So she goes through the ingredients with us as well, which is helpful to understand flavours and how they work together.
