Strawberry Rolls with Sweet Lemon Glaze

These lovely Strawberry Rolls with Sweet Lemon Glaze are fantastic. The filling is fresh strawberries, which, when baked, offer a tangy and tart bite against the soft and tender bread that makes up the rolls. The tanginess of the lemon glaze helps to underscore the strawberries and works wonderfully well against the fruit and bread. This is a great breakfast roll to make that has plenty of goodness in it and more than just sweetness.

The strawberries, because they are fresh, are loaded with vitamins and minerals, as well as protein, fiber and plenty of anti-oxidants. Strawberries are North America’s most favorite (well, most eaten) fruit. Next to them is blueberries (no surprise there). This fruit cooks up wonderfully well, and can work in savory as well as sweet dishes. The bread for these rolls is a simple one that includes butter, milk and eggs to ensure a rich, moist and tender bread. This will nicely complement the filling, which is tart and tangy, and pick up on the light lemony glaze. These are the perfect roll for when friends, family or guests are hanging around on Sunday morning looking for something yummy to eat. It is home made goodness, pretty much at its best.

Make the dough the night before, to speed things along. Simply allow the dough to rise once, as the recipe recommends, then cover it tightly and pop it in the fridge. Take it out the next morning, let it sit about 15 to 30 minutes, then roll and fill as the recipe tells you. Let these Strawberry Rolls with Sweet Lemon Glaze rise until they have almost reached their double size, and then bake them as the recipe directs. Quick and easy. Enjoy this recipe soon.
