There are so many ways to season nuts. They can take on a wide range of spices, whether sweet, salty, savory or piquant, and taste fantastic. Putting together some contrasting tastes really makes them a fun treat and your taste buds will enjoy the variety of sweet, salty, spicy and other combinations that you make. As you get better at putting together spices, you may find yourself creating your own blends for nuts. Dukkah is a middle eastern dish that blends seeds, nuts and spices to create fabulous flavors that can be smoky, sweet, and salty and have other combinations in them. This is a fun thing to make, and the little ones can help. The nuts do have to be carefully coated in a diluted mix of egg whites and sometimes fingers are needed. Watch the little ones do not put the raw egg whites in their mouths (along with the nuts they steal) but keep a few nuts where they can use a spoon to pick them up and eat them.
