The easiest way to clean your bathtub + the best DIY tub cleaner ever
Do you need an easier way to clean your bathtub? Grime and soap scum can really build up around the edges of the bathtub, and pretty soon you may notice that there is even a ring forming. If you and your family take a lot of baths, your bathtub should be cleaned regularly to prevent this ring from forming. But sometimes, it's understandable that it doesn't get cleaned it as often as you'd like to since life can be busy. While cleaning the bathtub and the shower are not the most exciting things you could do, and we usually put it off to the last minute, there are ways that you can make cleaning your bathroom easier so you're not dreading it quite so much every time. The wonderful thing about these cleaning tips from Krystle over at Home Jobs By Mom is that you can do them all with natural house cleaners instead of the chemical filled products you buy at the store. In fact, pretty much any cleaning job you have can be done using natural house cleaners instead of chemicals. You may have heard about white distilled vinegar being one of the great natural cleaners you can use around the house, but did you know that you can also use apple cider vinegar?
Many people use apple cider vinegar for recipes in salads and even on its own as a great health elixir. You can drink it in warm or room temperature water every day, and it will give you some awesome benefits. It's been shown that it can be great for our digestive system and blood sugar control. It can also be great for detoxing our bodies, and it has an alkalinizing effect as well which means it creates a good pH balance in our bodies so everything can run smoothly. It's also great for external use too and can be used as a hair rinse and even as a toner when mixed with water. While it's great for our health and beauty, it can also be great for cleaning too. Much like white vinegar, apple cider vinegar is great for deodorizing and degreasing. It's also great for killing mold and mildew which can be present in our showers and bathtub areas. Apple cider vinegar is also great for dissolving hard water stains as well just like white vinegar is, so if you have any hard water stains in your shower area, you can use it to get rid of those too. Your shower will be left dirt and grime free after using apple cider vinegar, and you may not ever use any other type of cleaner again.
The other ingredient in this natural cleaner used in these cleaning tips is dish soap. You can use any kind of dish soap you like, but to make it as natural as possible, use an all natural dish soap with no parabens or sulphates. You can also add some lemon essential oil to your mix to make it smell great, plus essential oils will also help to break through any of the grease and grime that's built up in your shower. Especially lemon essential oil which is great for its acidic properties. Tea tree oil would be a great essential oil for getting rid of mold and mildew. The only other thing you'll need is an empty, clean spray bottle. All you do is mix up all of the ingredients into the spray bottle, and then you can use it. Krystle even recommends microwaving it for a short time to heat it up which will help to loosen the grime even more. Then, just follow her cleaning tips, and you'll have a clean shower in no time.***
