Turtles are something everyone seems to love to eat, not the animal, the chocolates! Try out this Turtle Poke Cake a dessert that takes the original Turtle treat that everyone loves, to a whole new and amazing level! There are many Turtle desserts that are made in honour of the popular candy, cheesecakes, brownies, ice cream, truffles, and more that are made, so as you can see, people really love this turtle candy. If you have never heard of it before, they are caramel covered pecans, then dipped and covered in chocolate, and the end result resembles a little turtle, which is how they got their name.

This recipe takes all of the flavours of a turtle candy and puts it into a nice cake that you can cut into squares and share with a bunch of friends at a gathering or a potluck. These would also be great for Christmas time when everyone seems to buy Turtles candies as it is, so it would be nice to make this cake around then so that people could enjoy a different way of eating their favourite treat! Wouldn't it be great with a scoop of ice cream and some more caramel sauce and chocolate sauce drizzled over top? That would make for a super decadent dessert, especially if they are right out of the oven!

The reason it is called a poke cake, is because you poke little holes into the cake once its baked, and then you pour caramel sauce over it so that the holes collect all of the gooey caramel! They are super easy and pretty quick to make and everyone is guaranteed to love these, especially people who love Turtles candies! They always went so fast at Christmas when they got put out, so I know they would be a hit around my family! How about yours?
