Summer time means having some nice cool drinks in the hot summer sun! This Watermelon Lemonade is sure to quench your thirst on a hot summer day! Just the photo itself looks to refreshing, the pink juice in the pitcher, pouring into the glass, all nice and icy cold. This would be the perfect hydration on a hot day for sure! It's easy enough to forget to drink enough water in the hotter months, but it is definitely not something you want to do. Dehydration could lead to heat exhaustion and then even heat stroke if you are not careful! And no one wants to get that, when it can be prevented.
This watermelon lemonade looks delicious! Perfect for a party or just for yourself, hanging out in the back yard sun tanning. They even say you can add vodka to it, which would be nice for an evening drink, but alcohol is also a dehydrating drink so it's best to drink lots of water with it on a hot day too. The drink is made with sugar, water, watermelon and the lemon juice all mixed together with ice. Sounds so good doesn't it? A real summer treat!
I would love to try this version, but you could also make a healthier version without the sugar in it, if you wanted. I would try just the watermelon and the lemon and see how that tasted mixed with some water and maybe a bit of honey or agave to sweeten it. I am sure you could even make the simple syrup out of honey or agave too! Watermelon has so many health benefits like vitamin A, B and C, lycopene, potassium and antioxidants, and is also very high in it's water content. Lemons are wonderful too, providing a great source of vitamin C as well, and it helps digestion and hydration too!
