Yummy Banana Pudding Poke Cake
Can there ever be enough Banana Pudding Poke Cake recipies, or are they all “just” fabulous? I think I choose the latter. I admit I favor bananas in just about everything, but as a poke cake, they become especially delicious.
In any event, this is the standard fare for a commercially prepared banana poke cake, and one that is easy, cheap and quick to pull together. Start with the box mix, almost any plain, vanilla variety will do. Follow the directions for the cake. Then put in the holes for the poke. This recipe uses two boxed mixes. Pour those over the cake once you have made them according to the instructions on the web site. The final step in this recipe is to spread the whipped cream (also frozen) over the cake and then chop bananas for a sprinkle along with some vanilla wafers.
This is an easy peasy recipe to leave to the new bakers in the house to put together on a day when you need to have your feet up, a cup of tea in one hand, and Ellen on the television, a day when you need a break from baking and yet every one wants something yummy for supper. This cake is so easy to make and you can keep all the ingredients on hand, in the cupboards and freezer, and just pull them out and assemble them when you need to (or, rather, let the kids do it). This is a nice cake, with light banana flavor, plenty of moistness and a pretty whipped topping. Keep it book marked for “just one of those days” and it will come in handy for you. Enjoy it soon!
